About

Established in 2026

Cassandra Baar—though most people call her Cassie—is a late-blooming lesbian, chiropractor, acupuncturist, and full-time romantic about women who feel too much and love anyway. By day, she runs a solo healthcare practice focused on helping people feel more at home in their bodies; by night, she writes emotionally charged sapphic romance that blends tenderness, grit, humor, and just enough spice to keep things interesting. She believes healing—whether physical or emotional—is rarely linear, and that truth shows up in both her work and her fiction.

Cassie lives in South Dakota with her daughter, though her heart is perpetually pulled toward mountains, wildfire skies, and the kind of longing that makes people reckless in the best ways. She writes for queer women, late bloomers, and anyone who has ever chosen Plan B (& C…& M) and found unexpected joy there. Her stories celebrate resilience, chosen family, and the quiet bravery it takes to let someone really see you.

When she’s not writing, she can be found hyping other sapphic authors, hunting down the best doughnuts while traveling, or reminding anyone within earshot that vulnerability is not a weakness—it’s a catalyst. From the fire comes the phoenix, after all.

    WHY I WRITE

I write stories about women who survive the crash and still choose flight. About love that’s slow-burn, high-stakes, and earned. About finding yourself in the wreckage and realizing you were never actually lost.

    WHAT I’M DRAWN TO

I’m drawn to complicated women. To quiet strength and feral hope. To helicopters cutting through smoke, hands finding each other in the dark, and love that shows up even when it’s inconvenient, terrifying, or overdue.

    WHAT I BELIEVE

    • I believe queer stories deserve space, heat, and tenderness. I believe romance can be both soft and devastating. And I believe the right story, at the right moment, can change the way we see ourselves.
